Southern Star Title Company, LLC is no longer in operation. It was placed into receivership as permitted by Chapter 443 of the Texas Insurance Code on January 8, 2009. The Insurance Commissioner, as Receiver, has appointed Jennifer Ramsey, PC as Special Deputy Receiver of the Company, effective March 26, 2009.

Here is a copy of the Agreed Order Appointing Liquidator and Permanent Injunction. Please read this order carefully as some provisions of the injunction and the stay may apply to you. In general, all legal actions against Southern Star Title Company, LLC or its property are stayed by the Order; and all persons are prohibited from taking any action with respect to the property and records of Southern Star Title Company, LLC other than to notify the SDR of any such property or records and deliver them promptly to the SDR.

The Receiver is now accepting claims for filing. If you believe you are owed money by this estate, please download this PROOF OF CLAIM FORM and follow the instructions on the form. The deadline to file a claim is March 31, 2010. If you are unable to download the form from this website, you may send a written request for a claim form to P.O. Box 303123, Austin Texas 78703-0053. If you request a form in writing, please be sure to include your correct mailing address with the request.

The Texas Title Insurance Guaranty Association has assumed some files of the company and has also initiated a claims process for escrow-related claims as contemplated by Subchapters F and G of Chapter 2602 of the Texas Insurance Code. The deadline to file a claim with TTIGA is currently October 14, 2009.
